ECHONET
(European Cultural Heritage Organisations
Network) was founded in May 2001 to foster co-operation between a
Europe-wide network of historic houses, palaces, castles and museums,
other cultural heritage organisations and universities.
ECHONET focuses on the training and development
of staff, particularly the staff in direct customer/visitor contact
through whom the public have access to the historic buildings and
contents.
ECHONET has been responsible for a three year (2003-2006)
European Union funded Leonardo Project concerned with these issues (called ECHOCAST)
which ended on 30 November 2006.
The Project has developed an accredited training framework,
modules and training materials which will be of value to many cultural heritage organisations, Europe-wide.
Lancaster University has been funded Jan. - Dec. 2007 to be lead partner of the ECHO-NET-TRAIN project which will include several ECHONET partners (see further News)
ECHONET welcomes
applications for membership from cultural heritage and other organisations
throughout Europe. If you share our aims, and want to use our products, join us. For further information
